The ability to print sales orders in the Sales Order option comes after you have "finished" the order. The user "experience" for printing depends on the settings entered in Shipping Options and User Options. See Using Sales Orders and Finishing a Sales Order for more details.
1. After you have finished adding line items to a sales order and have selected the Finish(X) command option the following options regarding printing will display, based on the settings in Shipping Options and User Options. The following instructions assume all options have been set to Y (Y=yes) or A (A=ask).
Enter the desired number of labels to print or press F10 to accept the system default number for each label and item.
HINT: A batch of orders can be printed at one time from Shipping Papers.
Sales Order and Invoice Formats
The type of form, pre-printed or plain paper, is controlled using the Forms command option which can be found in Shipping or Receivable Options. If pre-printed forms are to be used, the form length and other information for the pre-printed form is found in Shipping Options on under the Next Page command option. If using the plain paper form, the header and footer layout and recipients is found in Forms. The optional fields that can be printed on the unshipped and shipped sales orders and invoices are found in Shipping Options and Item Info.
Bills of Lading (BOL) Formats
The type of form, pre-printed or plain paper, is controlled using the Forms command option, which can be found in Shipping or Receivables Options. If pre-printed forms are to be used, the BOL form type and other information for the pre-printed form is found in Shipping Options under the Next Page command option. If using the plain paper form, the header and footer layout and recipients is found in Forms. The address and item line information starting lines and column location for both type of forms is also found on the next page optional fields that can be printed on the bill of lading is found in Shipping Options and Item Info.
Label Formats
The label type and default templates are accessed using the Labels command option in Shipping Options. See Using Labels for more information on how to create the various shipping labels and which fields can be included on the labels.
